John Riding
JOHN RIDING d1973. British sailor who with his 12ft vessel “Sea Egg" became famous for crossing the Atlantic in 1964, at the time the smallest boat to ever achieve this feat. However, he and Sea Egg would soon meet an unfortunate end. The experienced sailor when halfway through a circum-navigation in 1973 was lost in the Tasman Sea. He had left New Zealand in May and was later officially declared lost at sea. No trace of him or Sea Egg have ever been found
