Diana Manners

Diana Manners

LADY DIANA MANNERS (Viscountess Norwich) d1986. Famously glamorous social figure of the early 1900's in both London and Paris. In her prime she had the widespread reputation of being the most beautiful woman in England. As a young woman, she moved in a celebrated group of aristocrats & intellectuals known as the Coterie, whose prominence and numbers were cut short by many being killed in the First World War. She married one of the few survivors, Duff Cooper who was later British Ambassador to France. After his death, she wrote three volumes of memoirs which revealed much about early 20th-century upper-class life. She died in London aged 93 on June 16th 1986.
