KING. British new-wave group active between 1984-86 whose name came from their lead singer Paul King. They achieved some chart success in 1985 and are best known for their hit single "Love and Pride" which reached No2 in the UK in January of that year. They scored two Top 20 albums (both certified Gold) and five Top 30 singles during this period.
