A wonderful original June 1966 Lojac Productions KCOP Los Angeles TV broadcast contract with rider pages, clearly signed in ink by both Percy Sledge and Lloyd Thaxton
Certification: | One page contract with seven page rider. "When a Man Loves a Woman" was first released by Atlantic Records in April 1966. The song reached No1 on both the Billboard Hot100 and R&B singles charts. It also reached No4 in the UK. This must have been one of his earliest appearances singing his classic song on TV on June 21st 1966. Compensation $210.00. The contract is also initialled again by both on the final page of the contract. A rarity as later in 1966 Percy Sledge made his wife (Carrie) his proxy when signing future contacts.
