Rory Gallagher
Rory Gallagher
RORY GALLAGHER d1995. Outstanding and influential Irish blues rock guitarist widely regarded as one of the greats. He began in the 1960s with the group Taste, but is best known for his prolific solo work (selling over 30 million albums). His live performances during his extensive touring in the 1970s have become legendary and he was International Guitarist and Top Musician of the year in 1972. His health and performances sadly became compromised during the 1980s by his alcoholism and drug use which he used to combat his serious issues with anxiety. He died in London aged just 47 in 1995 after contracting MRSA following a liver transplant.
