Description
1) STIRLING MOSS autograph. Multi talented British F1 Grand Prix driver regarded as the greatest driver never to win The F1 World Championship ; placed second in the Drivers Championship four times in a row between 1955-58. He raced between1948-1962 ; winning 212 of the 529 races he entered, including sixteen Formula 1 GPs from 67 starts with 24 podiums. He would sometimes compete in as many as 62 races in a single year and drove 84 different makes of car over the course of his racing career including ; Lotus, Vanwall, Maserati, Jaguar, Ferrari and Porsche. Like many drivers of the era, he competed in several formulae—very often on the same day. He retired in 1962 after a crash left him in a coma for a month ; afterwards he felt unable to continue driving at a professional level. In spite of this early retirement he has remained a well-known figure...........
2) ROB WALKER autograph d2002. Rob Walker Racing were a privateer team in Formula One working with Connaught / Cooper / Lotus / Ferguson and Brabham during the 1950s and 1960s. Noted drivers include ; Stirling Moss / Graham Hill / Bonnier / Siffert and Trintignant. Founded by Johnnie Walker whisky heir Rob Walker in 1953, the team became F1's most successful privateer in history, entering 124 GPs with 10 poles / 9 fastest laps and nine GP wins and being the first and last entrant to win a Formula One Grand Prix without ever building their own car ....
3) JACK FAIRMAN autograph d2002. British racing driver who participated in 13 F1 Grands Prix, debuting on 18th July 1953. He scored a total of five championship points, all of which came in the 1956 season. Following Bernie Ecclestones purchase of the remains of Connaught in 1958, he continued with his sporadic Formula One career in a wide variety of machines. His only notable entry in the years that followed was when he became simultaneously the last man ever to start a Grand Prix with a front engined car and the first to drive a four wheel drive car at the 1961 British Grand Prix.
A wonderful and extremely rare set of three consecutive 1961 autograph book pages clearly signed in pencil by Stirling Moss and in ink by Jack Fairman and Rob Walker (signed RRC Walker).
NB ; We will also include bonus autographs of three Lotus F1 drivers from the same book who all failed to finish this same British GP ; Gerry Ashmore (3GPs Lotus 1961) / Tim Parnell (2 GPs Lotus 1961) and Tony Marsh d2009 (2 GPs Lotus 1961).
All from the same autograph book on consecutive signed pages. A fabulous set of six drivers autographs for a serious 1961 F1 British Grand Prix collector. (they all failed to finish in this year !)
