TALKING HEADS. American New Wave band active between 1975-1991 described as  being "one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the 1980s. They managed to earn several pop hits" including ; Once In a Lifetime (1981) and Road to Nowhere (1985). The group were known for combining various musical styles with songwriter David Byrne contributing whimsical, esoteric lyrics to the band's songs which emphasized their showmanship through various multimedia projects and performances. Four of the band's albums appear on Rolling Stone magazine's 2003 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of all time. In a 2011 update of Rolling Stones "100 Greatest Artists of All Time", the band was ranked 100
