WINSTON "G" GAWKE. Indian singing protégé of expatriate Australian impresario Robert Stigwood, He had launched his career under the pseudonym "Johnny Apollo". Then becoming Winston G & The Wicked. In early 1965, both he (and the Graham Bond Organisation) were part of a Stigwood-promoted UK package tour headlined by Chuck Berry. As they shared management, the Graham Bond Organisation famously backed him on his Parlophone single "Please Don't Say".
