BRIAN CLOUGH d2004. Legendary English football manager and one of the great characters of the game. His distinquished playing career was cut short by serious injury in 1962. He had been a prolific scorer for Middlesborough (213 appearances / 197 goals) and Sunderland (61 appearances / 54 goals). He also won two England caps. He will however be best remembered for his incredible success as a club manager ; winning the league and back to back European Cups with Derby and Nottingham Forest (1979-1980). He died of stomach cancer aged 69 in 2004.
