David & Jonathan

DAVID and JONATHAN. This was the name used by the 1960s British pop duo Roger Greenaway and Roger Cook. They began working together in 1965 in Bristol and wrote the songs "This Golden Ring" and "You've Got Your Troubles" for The Fortunes. They then teamed up with George Martin to do a cover of The Beatles "Michelle" which reached No11 in the UK singles charts in 1966. They then scored another 1966 hit in the UK with "Lovers of the World Unite" which reached No7 in the UK.
