SAM & DAVE. American soul and Stax records R&B recording duo who performed together between 1961-1981. The most successful soul duo of the period known for hits ; "Soul Man" / "Hold On I'm Coming" / "I Thank You" / "When Something Is Wrong" and "Wrap It Up". Their live act earned them the nickname "Double Dynamite". Dave Prater was killed in a car accident aged 50 in 1988
