BREAD (DAVID GATES). American soft rock group of the 1970s best known for their 1973 (5x Platinum) LP Best of Bread and a string of successful hit singles including ; Make It With You (1970 US No1 / UK No5) / Baby Im a Want You (1971 US No3 / UK No14) / Everything I Own (1972 US No5 / UK No32) / The Guitar Man (1972 US No11 / UK No16) and Lost Without Your Love (1976 US No9 / UK No27). Group members James Griffin & Mike Botts both died of cancer aged 61 in 2005 and Larry Knetchtel following a heart attack aged 69 in 2009.
