ROCK HUDSON d1985. Popular American film actor best known for his romantic lead roles in the 1950s and 1960s, making over 70 films. Winner of four Golden Globes and an Academy Award Nomination in 1957 for "Giant". With his looks and film image so important to his career, he struggled hard to keep his private life and sexuality out of the headlines. He became one of the first of the Hollywood Set to die of AIDS related illness aged just 59 on October 2nd 1985.
