Wham
WHAM. British pop duo of the 1980s who sold 20 million albums and 15 million singles, their best known being ; "Young Guns" (No3 1982) / "Bad Boys" (No2 1983) / "Club Tropicana" (No4 1983) / "Wake Me up Before You Go Go" (No1 1984) and "Last Christmas" (No2 1984). The group famously split with a historic concert at Wembley Stadium on June 28th 1986 ; their final single "Edge of Heaven" reached No1 in same month. George Michaels subsequent solo career made him a global superstar, selling in excess of 80 million records. George Michael died peacefully at home aged 53 of heart failure on December 25th 2016.
