The group famously split with a historic concert at Wembley Stadium on June 28th 1986 ; their final single "Edge of Heaven" reached No1 in same month. George Michaels subsequent solo career made him a global superstar, selling in excess of 80 million records. George Michael died peacefully at home aged 53 of heart failure on December 25th 2016.

Description:

A rare original vintage 1983 autograph book page, clearly signed in ballpoints by both George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley.

The best set of Wham autographs we have ever had ...........

Certification:

Collectors notation is Brighton Centre / Metropole Hotel 1983. Wham played the Brighton Centre on Sunday October 30th 1983 during their debut tour, so this will be the actual signing date for this autograph book page. They were promoting their first studio album "Fantastic" released on July 9th 1983. It reached No1 on the UK album charts and spawned the hit singles ; Young Guns / Wham Rap / Bad Boys and Club Tropicana. Dr Who actor Tom Baker on the reverse of this page. One of an absolutely outstanding mostly in-person autograph collection of over 500 items obtained by JD in Brighton & London during the late 1970's to 1990s. The majority being pop music acts of the period, along with actors and entertainers. The autographs are on records / fanzine magazine photographs and autograph book pages. Many are dedicated along with messages to the collector (Jonathan) and include dates & venues where they were obtained. There is a copy of a letter from him included (if required) that details his almost obsessive collecting exploits and memories of the time. Young Guns was the groups first single record released in October 1982 ; Andrew and George were both still just teenagers. It reached No3 in the charts , largely due to a very lucky last-minute appearance on BBC TVs Top Of The Pops when another scheduled act had to pull-out of the show.
